I recently participated in a cultural fashion show event at Bryn Mawr College in the Philadelphia PA/ Mainline area. I painted the faces and bodies of the beautiful students walking in the show for the Bryn Mawr College’s African and Caribbean Student Organization Annual Fashion Show! What a wonderful energy and event to be a part of! The colors of the fashions, the amazing energy of the women, and the overall tone of the evening was fun and upbeat. I painted tribal face designs on many of the women as well as some body paint to coordinate with their costumes to be displayed on the runway. I also incorporated the flag of the country each beauty was representing. It was such a wonderful celebration of culture and art. I am so grateful to have participated in this event. What I appreciated most, these college women were so nice and supportive of each other. They helped one another, they complimented each other … it was just awesome to be amongst such a lovely group of women. Appreciating the arts ….and face painting!

I’m so grateful to have a job that I love . I appreciate that people appreciate my art and support me by having me at events . Art is important as it’s a creative outlet for many things. I face painted at an event last night in Delaware County PA. It was an end of summer camp closing ceremony with a Soul Train themed show which all of the kids participated in . What a wonderful experience for me as an artist ! It was refreshing to see these children genuinely having fun and performing on stage for the audience . They were dancing , singing and smiling the entire time ! It truly was wonderful to experience the energy of happiness that is achieved by being artistic and creative 🙂 That’s why art is important . It creates good vibes . Art is purposeful.Art is peaceful. Art is love. These kids had a reason to work on a meaningful project and stay focused upon something positive and it showed by the smiles on their faces . So I’m very blessed to do what I do. I create. People smile. I connect. All of this warms my heart and gives me good vibes:) I’m so grateful to have a job that allows me flexibility to travel and learn and many opportunities to experience people, areas, lifestyles, etc. I fully believe that what I do has a very profound purpose. As I grow and evolve and learn about myself, this becomes clearer. I follow a very spiritual path in life and I do what feels good to me. Art and people and traveling all feel good to me. I truly believe we are all given a gift in this world- its up to us to tap into ourselves and find it , honor it and let it shine.

Over the 14 years I have been face and body arting, I have encountered many people and situations. Its always a blessing to really connect with people and I realize thats what my art helps me do. Just a few days ago I face painted at a gig in a school in Delaware County PA. The kids were thrilled about their faces being painted, but the adults were as well. I love when a simple face painting turns into a warm hearted moment of connection while I’m working. The director of the school decided to have fun and get painted. As I was painting her, we were chatting and realized we had some things in common. As we continued, she shared that she lost her husband just 2 years ago… suddenly….while living in Florida. I empathized with her as I understand loss is difficult and grieving can take awhile. She said it was not until just recently that she started to let herself laugh and have fun again. She also shared that face painting was something that she would not have done before, but she was allowing herself to live and have fun and go with the flow. I was so happy to hear that and honored for the opportunity to help her light shining. She thanked me for the face painting and I thanked her for the opportunity. THAT is why I do what I do,its all about the energy and the good vibes and connecting. Something as simple as a painting a woman face like a pirate to celebrate life and art and love. Last night I participated in the annual American Red Cross Holiday Party at the center city Philadelphia Marriott Hotel. This is the 2nd year I have volunteered as a face painter for this festive Philadelphia holiday party! There were over 200 kids eager to have fun, play games, dance, open presents and get face painting! I am grateful to the American Red Cross for the opportunity to participate and share my face painting with the kids! Last night I took part in a face painting jam at the SoHa Art building in southern New Jersey with the South Jersey Face Painting Guild. We had the fortunate opportunity of a visit by Heather Green from Silly Farm supplies in Hollywood Florida. Heather was generous enough to share are sunny personality and share some face painting tips and business advice . We were also lucky to have the opportunity to but face painting and body painting supplies during our jam! I was glad to purchase some new cosmetic glitter , paint brushes , make-up and sponges to add to my already extensive professional kit of face painting supplies! A fun time was had by all sharing art, face painting , learning and making new face and body art friends !
