Face and Body Painting Fantasy Fest Key West 2021

Hi everyone!!!! Here we are once again at Fantasy Fest time in Key West! It’s an interesting year considering all of the popular well attended events that typically happen for Fantasy Fest have been cancelled. Yet, Fantasy Fest is officially not cancelled. The Goombay Fest, Zombie Bike Ride, Street Fair, Masquerade Ball and Fantasy Fest parade have all been cancelled. If germ “safety” is the reason…. they failed . Duval Street in Key West was absolutely rockin and packed last night in Key West on the first Saturday of the scaled back event. There’s also new rules to navigate around this year. Despite a no nudity ordinance in Key West… theres usually a specified “Fantasy Zone” established for the festival for the more risque costumes and bodypainted folks…. not this year. Also, the street closures most are used to near Captain Tony’s and Sloppy Joe’ are also not happening as well.

But, people are still coming to Key West for Fantasy Fest!!! Last night I painted a wedding party of 13 ladies as zombies for their festivities in Key West!!!

Key West Fantasy Fest 40th Year 2019

Another Fantasy Fest in Key West I�m the books ! This year marked the 40th Year of the spectacular event ! I�m honored to have participated once again. This year was especially unique as I painted mostly repeat clients in their accommodations around the island. Not only did I have fun with painting custom face and body art designs on fun people but I also had the opportunity to see many cool hotels and vacation rentals .

I especially loved The Saint on Eaton Street in Key West as well as Ocean Key Resort at the Mallory Square end of the island.

Every client I painted was happy, fun, festive and decorated beautifully for a fun night out on Duval or in front of Capt. Tony�s. I even had a handful of clients from the Philadelphia area which reminded me of home with similar energies and attitudes . We kicked off the event on Sunday with the Zombie Bike Ride Edition of the Artisan Market in Key West.

Airbrush Body Paint Key West Fantasy Fest, Philadelphia, Miami

I’m so excited to have recently worked with my new Iwata Revolution top feed airbrush at a body painting event near Philadelphia ! I have always worked with bottom feed airbrushes, still Iwata though. I especially loved the top feed as I used only the amount of product I needed and could add more as I went along. The make-up flowed very smoothly out of the airbrush and offered coverage as expected for each body paint color. I am so excited to work further with these Iwata Airbrush tools. I also found the cleaning process fairly simple ad straightforward as I wiped the leftover make-up from the cup and follow through with cleaner sprayed through the airbrush.

I can’t wait to use this new airbrush when I body paint at Fantasy Fest in Key West this year in 2018. I use both airbrush and traditional brush and sponge techniques when body painting. I can get best result for fine lines with a brush but like the airbrush for other techniques and effects.
