I’m especially excited for this event because this event led me to where I am now. I tried this event in 2021 after feeling so frustrated with all the restrictions and cancelled events in Key West. I had never been to this part of Florida and just loved it and the event was an absolute breath of fresh air from the negative energy I was feeling in the Keys…. SO…..it was a divine intervention!

I switched coasts and now do henna body art at the Sunset Celebration in Clearwater FL at Pier 60!! I love it here! The festival takes place nightly ( weather permitting) 2 hours before sunset until 2 hours after sunset. See you there:)

Last night I participated in the annual American Red Cross Holiday Party at the center city Philadelphia Marriott Hotel. This is the 2nd year I have volunteered as a face painter for this festive Philadelphia holiday party! There were over 200 kids eager to have fun, play games, dance, open presents and get face painting! I am grateful to the American Red Cross for the opportunity to participate and share my face painting with the kids! I painted lots of holiday season designs including snowflakes, candy canes,Christmas trees, and snowmen… and topped it off with glitter of course!! The Wilmington Flower Market this weekend was another smashing success!!! The weather was incredible and just perfect for face painting and henna body art. I was visited by local photographer Shannon Adelson, who said the following about my face painting art while capturing photographs of my work.
“Face painting is a party novelty you often find at carnivals and other outdoor festivals… However, to witness the level of artistry exhibited here was quite refreshing. I briefly discussed with Jen how she tries to match the color palette to each child’s clothing, and then modify the design to fit the demeanor of the kid in her chair. Amazingly consistent work, and all in such a short timeframe too. Face painting like this is definitely an art form, and it was amazing to watch how quickly such a transformation takes place. In less than five minutes this young girl had a makeup masterpiece adorning her skin. It’s no surprise why all the kids were lining up to be part of this experience!”
