Artist Quarantined in Paradise- Key West Pandemic 2020

I’m writing this blog during a historic, once in a lifetime ( hopefully) event from Key West. Its week, I don’t know what of the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic. Heres what it’s like for an artist that works with people to be experiencing this. First, I’m really bored- almost 2 weeks of staying at home by myself is pushing it for me. I’m a people person. Good vibes inspire me. Social distancing and face/ body art don’t go well together, unfortunately.
For me, It’s a time to use creativity in another way.Every income resource is now on pause for me and every CrazyFaces artist for now- certainly not a fun feeling, for sure. On the upside- I am positive and look at the bright side of life. This too shall pass.I know everything will be different when we arrive on the other side of this. Everything seems to be changing- rapidly.

On another note- i’m experiencing feelings of withdrawal. I miss my work. I genuinely love what I do. I love the people I connect with. And most importantly, I love the smiles and happiness from people that appreciate the henna tattoo, or the face painting, or the hair wrap. Art is full of purpose and right now I’m feeling a bit fuzzy and deflated. Everything is connected. I have always felt appreciation and gratitude for what I get to do. Feels like the rug was pulled out from under me. I’m like a lost little kid whose friends left them all alone at the playground. It’s not fun playing this game by myself, womp, womp, womp…….

In the meantime, I’m following the social distancing recommendations, learning new things, blogging, thinking of the best possible outcome for everyones highest and best good. Stay well and hang in there. We all need a moment of refreshment at times. Hope to see you on the other side of this:)

I recently participated in a cultural fashion show event at Bryn Mawr College in the Philadelphia PA/ Mainline area. I painted the faces and bodies of the beautiful students walking in the show for the Bryn Mawr College’s African and Caribbean Student Organization Annual Fashion Show! What a wonderful energy and event to be a part of! The colors of the fashions, the amazing energy of the women, and the overall tone of the evening was fun and upbeat. I painted tribal face designs on many of the women as well as some body paint to coordinate with their costumes to be displayed on the runway. I also incorporated the flag of the country each beauty was representing. It was such a wonderful celebration of culture and art. I am so grateful to have participated in this event. What I appreciated most, these college women were so nice and supportive of each other. They helped one another, they complimented each other … it was just awesome to be amongst such a lovely group of women. Thank you to the BACSO for having me ! www.jennifermontgomery.net 610.764.0853 Face Painting and Body Art in Philadelphia PA

Face Painting West Chester PA Gala Event West Chester University

Over the weekend we participated in an amazing fundraising gala event at West Chester University offering Glamour Face Painting to the beautiful attendees. The event took place Saturday evening on the univeritys campus. The guests arrived in spectacular gowns for the masquerade themed event. Myself and another amazing face painter matched the gowns with face painted masks and eye designs to coincide with the event theme. We used alot of metallic colors, cosmetic glitters and even gems to create elaborate , glamorous face paintings for the ladies.
As you can imagine , everyone looked festive and fabulous! At CrazyFaces FacePainting, we bring the art of face painting and body art to another level. Free Face Painting Philadelphia Farmers Market

Philly Farmers Market Face Painting

Philly Farmers Market Face Painting by Jennifer Montgomery of CrazyFaces Face Painting in Philadelphia PA

Yesterday I participated in the Fairhill Square Farmers Market in Philadelphia PA in collaboration with The Women’s Community Revitalization Project. The Farmers Market began last year to bring fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs to the city. The Farmers Market take place every Tuesday through the month of October from 1pm-5pm at Fairhill Square Park in Philadelphia located at 4th and Lehigh.
There are different activities offered each for the members of the community to participate in. Yesterday, Face Painting was offered as a free activity for the children. There was also a free Zumba class for everyone to enjoy as well.
The face painting was a success with kids and adults coming by throughout the day and spreading the words to others to come and have their faces painted as well! The next face painting activity will take place on the last Tuesday in August. In the meantime, visit the Fairhill Square Farmers Market in Philadelphia PA and support the community as well locally grown , fresh, chemical free , healthy foods.

Face Painting Philadelphia School Camp

A big thanks to Greene Towne School for having me to paint for a recent summer camp event. What a wonderful, polite group of children to interact with. It was a perfect day for face painting fun.
