Here we are once again at Fantasy Fest time in Key West! It’s an interesting year considering all of the popular well attended events that typically happen for Fantasy Fest have been cancelled. Yet, Fantasy Fest is officially not cancelled. The Goombay Fest, Zombie Bike Ride, Street Fair, Masquerade Ball and Fantasy Fest parade have all been cancelled. If germ “safety” is the reason…. they failed . Duval Street in Key West was absolutely rockin and packed last night in Key West on the first Saturday of the scaled back event. There’s also new rules to navigate around this year. Despite a no nudity ordinance in Key West… theres usually a specified “Fantasy Zone” established for the festival for the more risque costumes and bodypainted folks…. not this year. Also, the street closures most are used to near Captain Tony’s and Sloppy Joe’ are also not happening as well.
But, people are still coming to Key West for Fantasy Fest!!! Last night I painted a wedding party of 13 ladies as zombies for their festivities in Key West!!!

Another Fantasy Fest in Key West Im the books ! This year marked the 40th Year of the spectacular event ! Im honored to have participated once again. This year was especially unique as I painted mostly repeat clients in their accommodations around the island. Not only did I have fun with painting custom face and body art designs on fun people but I also had the opportunity to see many cool hotels and vacation rentals .

Every client I painted was happy, fun, festive and decorated beautifully for a fun night out on Duval or in front of Capt. Tonys. I even had a handful of clients from the Philadelphia area which reminded me of home with similar energies and attitudes . We kicked off the event on Sunday with the Zombie Bike Ride Edition of the Artisan Market in Key West.
