I had the honor of providing henna services for a bride and her family in Philadelphia PA yesterday:) It was a beautiful , festive experience to be the henna artist for the upcoming Philadelphia PA bridal event. I spent about 4 hours with the family applying henna to the Indian family with designs of all sorts. Of course, the bride received the most intricate and extensive henna work on her hands and feet. After the henna was applied the ladies applied lemon juice to wet the henna again to allow the henna to create darker stains as it was setting on the skin. This weekend, Key West PrideFest street fair on Duval street !! I’ll be set up on the 700 block of Duval Street in front of the Bourbon Street Pub in Key West, FL doing Henna Body Art, Flash Tattoos, Face Painting and even selling some of my original Key West inspired art. The event starts at 10am and runs until 10pm. I’m really looking forward to this festive, colorful event filled with art , love and lots of fun!!! It was an exciting time during Bike Week in Daytona Beach FL body painting and doing henna tattoos at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson at Destination Daytona this year! I was so excited and grateful for the opportunity and experience. The weather was wonderful 8 out of the 10 days, lucky me to be body painting and doing henna in sunny Florida ! I had a fabulous time creating art and hanging out with the folks at Harley Davidson and Full Throttle Magazine. There were motorcycles galore, music, enthusiastic people, fun, body paint and henna too!

It was an AWESOME weekend in Key West, FL!! The weather alone is spectacular…. coupled with face and body art…….OMG!!!! Friday was the IWFFA event in Key West… I face painted alot of girls from the Panama team and some Mom’s too:) The Lower Keys Seafood Festival on Saturday and Sunday was a wonderful success. The weather was incredible and lots of faces were painted as well as henna tattoos and flash tattoos given.

Its been an eventful , exciting year! In closing out 2014, I have been invited to work with author Nomi Eve to promote her book titled “Henna House” . Nomi Eve has committed to a 100 book club challenge all over the US. I have been invited to share my henna art at the Philadelphia area book club events by applying henna to the ladies at the events. It’s surely been an honor to participate. I am so grateful that Nomi appreciates my art and that the ladies attending the book clubs do as well. So far, I’ve delightfully decorated hands and feet with henna of many lovely women in the Philadelphia area. I look forward to the upcoming events on my calendar in 2014 and 2015! I had the fortunate opportunity to provide bridal henna services for a wedding party in Southern New Jersey over the weekend. Although not of Middle Eastern descent the bride was having mehndi done in honor of her soon to be husbands heritage. Traditionally in the middle east, henna or mehndi as its formally referred to, is applied to a brides hands and feet before a wedding ceremony usually by a female family member.
The bridal party that I adorned with henna were all very beautiful Jamaican women gathering together to celebrate with the bride for brunch and henna. Each lady chose a Henna body art design for the hand. The bride had the most elaborate henna of all, on both hands and both feet. At the end of the henna session ,the bride relaxed as her henna dried and later had professional photos taken of her to capture the special memory. I wish a very happy , healthy and successful marriage to the couple in love.
