I am very excited to share highlights from The Make-Up Show in New York City yesterday !Myself and Philadelphia Make-Up Artist, Tracie Gardner , attended and learned about the newest trends and products in make-up! The Make-Up Show is run by The Powder Group and travels to major cities in the US. Yesterday we attended in mid town New York City at The Metropolitan Pavillion, only a 2 hr ride from Philadelphia. We arrived at the start of the show , giving us time to browse make-up vendors like Make-up Forever , Mehron, Temptu and Graftobian, just to name a few . There was a plethora of product and an overload of amazing colors and a personal fave ….. Glitters!!!!
I am grateful to have taken classes with James Vincent, Melanie Mills, and Dani Fonseca, learning about airbrush make-up, bridal make-up, and tips and tricks in the make-up industry from highly respected professional artists .

Today I used my henna skills to etch henna inspired art into
UGG boots ! The event took place at Nordstrom in King of Prussia PA as an in store thank you for purchase of UGG’s. I did some very intricate designs on the boots of all sizes and colors . The designs were etched in with a burning tool that leaves a permanent yet beautiful tattoo like custom design ! Most clients asked for a creative , freehand design while others opted for names and more specific design requests . The Wilmington Flower Market this weekend was another smashing success!!! The weather was incredible and just perfect for face painting and henna body art. I was visited by local photographer Shannon Adelson, who said the following about my face painting art while capturing photographs of my work.
“Face painting is a party novelty you often find at carnivals and other outdoor festivals… However, to witness the level of artistry exhibited here was quite refreshing. I briefly discussed with Jen how she tries to match the color palette to each child’s clothing, and then modify the design to fit the demeanor of the kid in her chair. Amazingly consistent work, and all in such a short timeframe too. Face painting like this is definitely an art form, and it was amazing to watch how quickly such a transformation takes place. In less than five minutes this young girl had a makeup masterpiece adorning her skin. It’s no surprise why all the kids were lining up to be part of this experience!”
