Yesterday was so super amazing!! I was going to wait and write a big blog about it but I’m still so excited that I had to share right away! So I had had this idea to do henna crowns for women in the chemotherapy process as a way to share my gift and help women feel beautiful, as we should:) So , with the power of intention and help from my awesome supportive circle of friends…. this became a reality in less than 2 weeks!!! A very generous soul, Rebekah , from Team CMMD REALLY helped me get this whole thing underway. She connected me to these amazing ladies and even offered her home for us to meet and create awesome body art on a dreary Sunday. My photographer friend and fellow creative Shannon Adelson joined in the process to capture images of the art as it was created and smiles were emerging. It was a beautiful experience for me and I hope the same for everyone else as well. It was nice to share what I have to offer with women that have gone through the trials and tribulations of cancer but still manage to smile. As I’ve said previously, I love what I do with my art, but mostly, I love connecting with people. This art gift I have has connected me to amazing souls and formed friendships with the best people ever! I’m so grateful for everything. I learn so much from people and families I interact with, its so special to hear firsthand about life experiences from people of all different backgrounds, ethnicities, geographic areas, etc. We can easily get stuck in our own worlds and forget to empathize with others and learn about their experience, this job allows me to connect with others. I just really love this, thank you so much to everyone who has helped me along the way- it truly is awesome. Here’s what i’m hoping to manifest this December 2016 in the Philadelphia area! Also in January 2017 …I’m looking for some help friends … I’d like to volunteer my time and my henna art to ladies going through cancer treatment/chemotherapy . My hope is to do henna crowns as a pick me up during the holiday season . I did this in Key West for a very special woman that hadn’t taken her hat off since her treatments but felt comfy enough with me to do so…. It was an amazing experience for both of us … So much so that a friend of hers saw me doing henna at an event a week later in Key West and stopped to tell me how her friend was so happy 🙂 So anyone with contact people or resources I can reach out to would be appreciated. I had a conversation with another artist that helped me on a gig last night . She asked me if business was busy . I said it’s been great . It’s always great – that’s my story , so it is . She recently took a part time office job , certainly not her calling …but paying her bills I guess .So… When people ask me for business advice … I don’t have it to give . I’m not a business strategist , I’m simply passionate about what I do and maintaining the life I live which is a very non-conformist lifestyle , I’ve been this way my whole life . I’m abundant and I do what I love . It’s not about how much money a person makes , it’s about priorities and what makes me feel good . I’ve learned this throughout my journey – when I’ve made up my mind that something will be and then feel it , it will manifest . The past 3 yrs have been the most challenging ever and while I was scared about finances at times and not sure how I was going to do it all by myself and maintain the lifestyle I love which includes driving what’s considered a luxury vehicle , traveling frequently and spending extended periods of time in Key West – but I’m doing it 🙂 Its got nothing to do with money , I don’t pay attention my my annual income very much . I work like I don’t need the money , I pay for my necessities and live the life I love and put the rest away and sometimes share extra when I’m feeling generous . When you get your thoughts in alignment and focus on abundance and keep it moving – it will be attracted back . I’ve had people tell me I would have to give particular things up when I divorced , one of them was Key W

I recently participated in a cultural fashion show event at Bryn Mawr College in the Philadelphia PA/ Mainline area. I painted the faces and bodies of the beautiful students walking in the show for the Bryn Mawr College’s African and Caribbean Student Organization Annual Fashion Show! What a wonderful energy and event to be a part of! The colors of the fashions, the amazing energy of the women, and the overall tone of the evening was fun and upbeat. I painted tribal face designs on many of the women as well as some body paint to coordinate with their costumes to be displayed on the runway. I also incorporated the flag of the country each beauty was representing. It was such a wonderful celebration of culture and art. I am so grateful to have participated in this event. What I appreciated most, these college women were so nice and supportive of each other. They helped one another, they complimented each other … it was just awesome to be amongst such a lovely group of women. Henna for Healing

I am so fortunate to have a job I love. There are moments when that is reflected back to me in a very powerful way. As I’ve said many times before , I really appreciate where my art has taken me over the years. I have opportunities to connect with people that are so meaningful. I am very spiritual and have been on a a journey of awakening over the last few years. I realize I am a lightworker and my art helps me with this. My most recent private henna client and I connected immediately when we met this past weekend. She contacted me for henna to be done on her hands. I had never met her before but knew right away we were going to connect. I think its amazing that my art creates this for me. My client wanted the henna as a gift to herself as she said she is also very spiritual. Turns out we had some things in common as she shared her story of her life and marriage which I was also able to relate to. I shared with her my experience with a very emotional,and devastating end to a 17yr long relationship/marriage- this gave her comfort and reassurance. I am so grateful that she felt comfortable enough to share her story with me and that I was also able to provide words and advice of support and comfort. I truly feel that we are all connected and as we share with each other – we grow and evolve:) I offer henna sessions for groups and indivuals as well as those recovering from life changing medical circumstances including mastectomy and chemotherapy/radiation . The first time I did a henna crown on a recovering cancer patient in the Florida Keys , I had to keep myself together emotionally to get through it. I was so honored that this woman chose me to apply henna to her and it was the fist time she went without her hat or wig since her treatments- that was very special to me. So thank you to all that support me and this amazing gift of body art- I appreciate all of you! When it comes to body painting , I’ve learned that body image is a big factor for many of the women I’ve body painted . It’s understandeable, as body painting puts us in a vulnerable position … Getting painted , typically by a stranger ….naked . Furthermore , the images and messages we are fed by the media and society in general put pressure on women to look a particular way or be a certain size to be considered beautiful, feminine, sexy ,etc….. all of which I’ve found is certainly NOT the norm . Through the art of body painting, I’ve discovered that those airbrushed images we see in magazines , online , and on billboards and advertisements are simply not authentic . It was during my very first body painting that I really discovered this . I was painting a very beautiful , slender model whom was also a mother . During the painting ,she was criticizing her stretch marks from giving birth . I thought she was beautiful and hoped she would honor herself more. The end result of the painting was that she loved her art,she rocked it in the photoshoot and the “imperfections” were airbrushed out during editing. I was grateful for the experience. As a woman that struggled with an eating disorder in my past,I was always very sensitive to body image. I used to read fashion magazines and honestly believed that the models were naturally flawless. The truth is,those images are exactly that -“images”. They are manipulated and airbrushed to create a look or a desired artistic result . While I’m not criticizing that, being behind the scenes practicing my art has helped me gain perspective.

A recent experience with a first time Fantasy Fest partygoer in Key West really resonated with me . It was her first body paint experience for this event. I was told by her friend ,that is an annual body paint client ,that she was a bit apprehensive about the process initially. After some design planning and conversation during the process , she warmed up to the idea. Her design was a zebra print which coordinated with a skirt she was wearing . The results were amazing … She absolutely loved her body paint which ended up matching her skirt just beautifully, it looked like it was a one piece dress when all was completed!! I was so happy for her and with the results. I was proud of the courage to go through with getting body painted and to the privilege to display my work on her body. The thing is, this art is an interactive process. I go with the flow of the process and at times am equally unsure of how it may turn out. When my client is thrilled with the art, that makes me happy.

I love my job and I especially love when a woman takes absolute delight in herself after seeing her body painted . I connect with so many beautiful ladies in my body paint experiences and feel absolute joy when they love how they feel after being body painted. In my opinion , all women are beautiful. It’s a mindset and a feeling rather than looking a particular way as far as I’m concerned . I think we should all feel amazing in our skin and celebrate who we are . Thank you to everyone that offers me the opportunity to learn , grow and connect through sharing my art – it means so much to me to have a job that I appreciate .

mine and my love, we went as the Joker and Harley Quinn pedaling around the island . The body painting kicked off Monday with a super fun superhero group from Pensacola, FL. The body paint continued into TuTu Tuesday and Wednesday… All with beautiful sunny Key West skies . Key West Love…. Body Paint too!

So I typically write about events and topics related to my work . I was thinking about it recently and realized how many amazing experiences I’ve been offered through sharing my art as well as opportunities to learn about and connect with others . I’m truly grateful for all of it . Choosing a path of pursuing my art and following my heart as a career path is not exactly mainstream , therefore I frequently wonder if I’m doing it right , as if there’s such a thing . I do this because I love it, especially the travel , making people smile and social part. This week is Fantasy Fest in Key West, FL… My favorite place in all the land . The first time I ever visited Key West I fell in love ..within a few days I had myself booked to body paint at Fantasy Fest! Since then I’ve been spending more and more extended periods of time on my favorite island and sharing my art each time. I love Key West, riding my bike , smiling as I meditate under my favorite palm tree at Smathers Beach, my awesome artist friends ,( Ray Rolston especially for all his help and support ) , cafe con leche and my beloved roosters !!! Stay tuned for highlights regarding Fantasy Fest 2016… I look forward to sharing my face and body paint adventures in Key West 🙂
