This weekend is the annual Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square PA . Once again CrazyFaces Face Painting will participate by offering face painting and airbrush tattoos. You can find CrazyFaces on the main stretch of State Street near the childrens entertainment area. Full face designs and simpler eye designs as well as cheek art painting will be available during the festival. We will also be airbrushing tattoos which last up to 1 week. Stop by the CrazyFaces Face Painting tent at the Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square PA this weekend. The festival runs from 10am-7pm on Saturday and 10am -5pm on Sunday!

Theres no doubt that Philadelphia based body painter Jennifer Montgomery is passionate about face and body art. She has been in business for a decade providing face painting, body painting , henna and airbrush body art in the Philadelphia area and most recently Key West, Florida. During a recent video shoot she demonstrated her body painting art on model Samantha Elmer . The entire body painting process was captured from start to finish by videographer Alan Fenstermaker of Fenstermaker Films. After the body paint was completed, Jennifer was interviewed and described how she comes up designs,inspiration for her body paint designs, previous and upcoming events including Cigarfest, Fantasy Fest and The Kennett Square Mushroom Festival. She also spoke enthusiastically about her love for Key West, Florida and her participation in the upcoming Fantasy Fest in Key West.

I had the fortunate opportunity to provide bridal henna services for a wedding party in Southern New Jersey over the weekend. Although not of Middle Eastern descent the bride was having mehndi done in honor of her soon to be husbands heritage. Traditionally in the middle east, henna or mehndi as its formally referred to, is applied to a brides hands and feet before a wedding ceremony usually by a female family member.
The bridal party that I adorned with henna were all very beautiful Jamaican women gathering together to celebrate with the bride for brunch and henna. Each lady chose a Henna body art design for the hand. The bride had the most elaborate henna of all, on both hands and both feet. At the end of the henna session ,the bride relaxed as her henna dried and later had professional photos taken of her to capture the special memory. I wish a very happy , healthy and successful marriage to the couple in love.

Last week I had the opportunity to participate in a body paint demo video showcasing my body paint art and offer feedback on the process and my success in the field of face and body painting. It was an unusually chilly rainy August day- fortunately the body painting took place indoors. This was my first time painting model/actress Samantha Elmer. We had a great time chatting and creating art. As I normally do, I didnt start with a blueprint for my design. I chose a color scheme and just allowed my creativity to flow and work with colors and curves of the body. The entire body paint process took about 2 hours with some breaks in between. I paint best when not on a schedule, so this was a carefree, fun, creative body paint experience. As you can see, I also matched the body paint with a face paint design to complete the look. The video footage was shot by Alan Fenstermaker, and is currently being edited. I am especially grateful for the gift of face and body art in my life and the interest of both Alan and model Samantha for collaborating with me on this. The next big body paint event that I am looking forward to is Fantasy Fest in Key West, Florida. I truly love letting my creativity loose and body painting in Key West.

Free Face Painting Philadelphia Farmers Market

Yesterday I participated in the Fairhill Square Farmers Market in Philadelphia PA in collaboration with The Women’s Community Revitalization Project. The Farmers Market began last year to bring fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs to the city. The Farmers Market take place every Tuesday through the month of October from 1pm-5pm at Fairhill Square Park in Philadelphia located at 4th and Lehigh.
There are different activities offered each for the members of the community to participate in. Yesterday, Face Painting was offered as a free activity for the children. There was also a free Zumba class for everyone to enjoy as well.
The face painting was a success with kids and adults coming by throughout the day and spreading the words to others to come and have their faces painted as well! The next face painting activity will take place on the last Tuesday in August. In the meantime, visit the Fairhill Square Farmers Market in Philadelphia PA and support the community as well locally grown , fresh, chemical free , healthy foods.
