Jennifer Montgomery, a celebrated Key West (Florida) street and Mallory Square Sunset Celebrations artist, is accepting face painting appointments on Sunday October 19 for the Zombie Bike Ride during the upcoming Fantasy Fest. Fantasy Fest is an annual 10 day festival that takes place at the end of October in Key West, FL. The Zombie Bike Ride takes place on the first Sunday during the Fest. Bicyclers leave Stock Island in Key West , costumed and face painted as zombies and pedal throughout the island into Key West. In 2013, over 7,000 participants bicycled as zombies!
Since face and body painting is very popular during the Fantasy Fest, patrons are usually advised to book appointments in advance. This is to ensure that all willing customers get the proper amount of time and service needed to pull off a successful face paint image.

Last week I was honored to participate in a Blessingway ceremony to celebrate the upcoming birth of a new baby boy into a clients family. The gathering included friends, family and loved ones joined in love to share stories, time, food blessings and henna for the new mom to be. I began by doing a pre-natal henna design on expecting moms belly. She chose a tree with roots including the phases of the moon. It turned out lovely. In addition, each guest selected a henna design for the hand or body to enjoy. The ceremony was a delightful display of female energy and support in anticipation of new life. I was honored to share my henna body art with these amazing women in the Philadelphia PA area.

We know I love face painting and body art. I also especially love warm , tropical weather in the winter when it’s generally cold in the Philadelphia PA area. Because I love warm , tropical weather Key West , Florida is my favorite place to be. So mix all that up -and we have face painting and body art in Key West ,Florida and the Lower Keys in January ! I will be painting faces at Mallory Square for Sunset Celebration. Also , face painting and body art at Porter Village on Duval Street in Key West ( across from Fat Tuesday’s). There is a possibility of body painting at another location on Duval Street in Key West. I’ll post a related blog as that develops . Fantasy Fest 2013 was another body painting success! As one of my favorite events of the year, I cannot begin to explain the excitement I feel about body painting in Key West during Fantasy Fest. I appreciate the opportunity to travel to my favorite place in all the land AND do what I love to do amongst like minded, fun, beautiful people.

The theme this year was Superhero�s, Villains, and Beyond. I painted several Wonder Woman,SuperGirl and Poison Ivy designs on women. Superman and Thor were favorites amongst the men. Not everyone stayed in sync with the theme. Some other designs that I body painted were a beautiful breast cancer pink ribbon on a lovely, joyful and delightful breast cancer survivor, corset tops, sports team jerseys, a dragon and Indian feathers just to highlight a few. I am grateful to have worked with and painted wonderful people . Its as much fun for me as it is for those being body painted in Key West for Fantasy Fest!! Last week I had the opportunity to participate in a body paint demo video showcasing my body paint art and offer feedback on the process and my success in the field of face and body painting. It was an unusually chilly rainy August day- fortunately the body painting took place indoors. This was my first time painting model/actress Samantha Elmer. We had a great time chatting and creating art. As I normally do, I didnt start with a blueprint for my design. I chose a color scheme and just allowed my creativity to flow and work with colors and curves of the body. The entire body paint process took about 2 hours with some breaks in between. I paint best when not on a schedule, so this was a carefree, fun, creative body paint experience. As you can see, I also matched the body paint with a face paint design to complete the look. The video footage was shot by Alan Fenstermaker, and is currently being edited. I am especially grateful for the gift of face and body art in my life and the interest of both Alan and model Samantha for collaborating with me on this. The next big body paint event that I am looking forward to is Fantasy Fest in Key West, Florida. I truly love letting my creativity loose and body painting in Key West.
