I had the fortunate opportunity to provide bridal henna services for a wedding party in Southern New Jersey over the weekend. Although not of Middle Eastern descent the bride was having mehndi done in honor of her soon to be husbands heritage. Traditionally in the middle east, henna or mehndi as its formally referred to, is applied to a brides hands and feet before a wedding ceremony usually by a female family member.
The bridal party that I adorned with henna were all very beautiful Jamaican women gathering together to celebrate with the bride for brunch and henna. Each lady chose a Henna body art design for the hand. The bride had the most elaborate henna of all, on both hands and both feet. At the end of the henna session ,the bride relaxed as her henna dried and later had professional photos taken of her to capture the special memory. I wish a very happy , healthy and successful marriage to the couple in love.
