Its been an eventful , exciting year! In closing out 2014, I have been invited to work with author Nomi Eve to promote her book titled “Henna House” . Nomi Eve has committed to a 100 book club challenge all over the US. I have been invited to share my henna art at the Philadelphia area book club events by applying henna to the ladies at the events. It’s surely been an honor to participate. I am so grateful that Nomi appreciates my art and that the ladies attending the book clubs do as well. I had the fortunate opportunity to provide bridal henna services for a wedding party in Southern New Jersey over the weekend. Although not of Middle Eastern descent the bride was having mehndi done in honor of her soon to be husbands heritage. Traditionally in the middle east, henna or mehndi as its formally referred to, is applied to a brides hands and feet before a wedding ceremony usually by a female family member.
The bridal party that I adorned with henna were all very beautiful Jamaican women gathering together to celebrate with the bride for brunch and henna. Each lady chose a Henna body art design for the hand. The bride had the most elaborate henna of all, on both hands and both feet. At the end of the henna session ,the bride relaxed as her henna dried and later had professional photos taken of her to capture the special memory. I wish a very happy , healthy and successful marriage to the couple in love.

Henna or Mehndi is a great addition to Bridal Showers or ladies only events. I was the henna artist on site at a Bridal Shower ths weekend in Bucks County PA. It was a nice surprise for all the ladies to have the option to have henna put on. Many of the ladies were enthusiastic about choosing a design and having it applied. The cool henna was an ice treat on a hot August afternoon. The bride enjoyed the most henna, as she had both feet decorated.

Yesterday I did a Henna Body Art design of a family tree on a client in Philadelphia PA. The design was intended as a trial to decide if an actual permanent ink tattoo would be a good fit in the area requested . The henna design was a tree with the names of the clients two children included within. It took about 40 minutes to complete the artwork and started on the upper thigh area and extended up to side abdomen to just above the rib area. I was very pleased with the outcome of the henna design as was the client.
